Sometimes I'm so proud of the train tracks I create that I take aerial photos of them. I should have, like, a track playbook or something. The weather outside has been absolutely unbearable (42 degrees? Are you kidding me, Manitoba?) so we've been spending a lot of time indoors. A lot of this summer has been scorching hot, really, which I'm just really not into. Summer is not my favourite season (dan't hate!) Oliver's on a big sea creatures kick since he got a new Sea Monsters book, and invented a new species called a Whale-Shark-Swordfish that he was quite proud of. Though I'm not sure I'll ever get used to Playdoh mixing. I was raised with a strict no-colour-mixing policy and can't quite shake it, though I try, because seriously people. Playdoh is crazy cheap. What am I trying to save? Playdoh and stickers. I'm so weird about them.
Theodore continues to have exclusively one interest, and it's trains. I'm not sure he likes anything else. He doesn't really talk about a lot of other things, or play with other things. If we read a book, it has to be a train book. If we're drawing pictures, it's got to be pictures of trains. And all of the food we serve him ends up lined up in front of his plate in train-car fashion every time, complete with his added woo-woo sound effects and squeals of delight. It's love. When ya know, ya know, right?
