I've been away for a few days, it was May long weekend here in Canada, and Matt took Friday off too, to make it an extra long weekend and so we could take Oliver to the dentist. On Friday morning Matt and Oliver built a milk jug boat together and sailed it down the "river" running through the ditch in our back yard. It dries up, and fills up, and dries up again. It was finally a good sized "river" again, so they took advantage of it, not to mention the suddenly perfect wind conditions for the expedition. They carefully crafted it and took it out. It was muddy and chilly, also muddy. Like crazy muddy. But totally worth it, Oliver had a blast. These are the sort of father-son things that will stick in his mind, adventures and expeditions, building things and sharing experiences. These are the things I hope he collects over the years.
