Waffles with white sauce are the one thing I know for an absolute fact both of my children will eat at mealtime. It seems like every meal is a struggle to get calories into these kids, and then adding nutrition on top of that can just be overwhelming sometimes. So when I just need something - anything - to put into these kids, waffles with white sauce does the trick. You can tell by their faces that they're big fans, and who wouldn't be? My waffles are delicious. ;)
Yesterday evening before supper we all headed over to the playground for some sunshiney play. Then Matt kindly fed the kids and put them to bed while I attended a Young Living Essential Oils expo and presentation. I've always been interested in learning what essential oils are all about, but I just couldn't contain my skepticism at the event. I couldn't. I tried, because I felt like I was ruining it for everyone there, but science, and evidence, and research, and finding out for yourself where things come from and why they are good for you is so important. I do agree that living a healthy, active, natural and organic lifestyle is really important if you want to live a long, healthy, happy life. I do, I sincerely do. And I might end up ordering a few of the products online (though likely not the brand, unfortunately.) I see a lot of merit in a natural household cleaner, or a therapeutic aromatherapy treatment for relaxation. Even an oil for the treatment of a surface skin issue. Absolutely I can see that there is real science behind that. Give me your science, friends, and I will give you my blessing.
I got home and Matt was digging around in the dirt beside our driveway. It looks like we got our shipment of bushes from Costco delivered. We ordered blue honeyberry bushes, and hearty something-or-other yellow rose bushes. Both are supposed to be very hearty, hard to kill, and fast growers. We staggered them along the side of our driveway. Matt worked late into the night getting them into the ground, and did such an amazing job. It looks fantastic. We also moved our little seedlings in front of the sunny window this morning, because they're at that stage now. Unbelievable. I just look at them in wonder because, how on earth? All I did was put a tiny little seed in some dirt, and water it a bit. That's it. How could that become these beautiful little green plants? Amazing. What an amazing earth we live on, filled with such magical little processes. I am lost in wonder.
