The weekend was beautiful. It was busy, and frantic, and filled with so many things, but it was beautiful. Friday we had a couple friends over for dinner and conversation (and wine!) and they are always lovely to be around. And they just bought a new house! Yay!
Saturday Matt headed over to a different couple friends house to help them lay their paving stones for their patio (and I've seen pictures, and it turned out gorgeous!) and then in the evening he headed out with a group of guys for dinner and Avengers: Age of Ultron. The whole day was basically just me alone with the kids, like any other day, which didn't make for the most exciting Saturday. However, in the evening me and the kids went out for some french fries and ice cream with some friends and their kiddos, and it was a chaotic rain-soaked adventure filled with meltdowns and crazyness and I survived and it was actually pretty fun in the end. Then the kids hunkered down for a movie at my place while us adult women took a minute to breathe. And chat. It was good.
Sunday morning Matt and I took the kids into the city to do some window shopping and just have a fun day out, and we of course spent some time at Ikea (cheap breakfast! Woo!) When we got back from our outing, Oliver helped Matt change the tires on the Mazda and wash both cars. Theodore stepped in a bit to help near the end, but he is not a very good helper, in any respect. It was a fun sunshiney time for everyone (even though the wind was a bit on the chilly side.)
And today has been beautiful as well. This morning we went for a walk to pick up the mail. Oliver just got a new "pack-pack" and he loaded it up with snacks and drinks for everyone before we left. My fabric arrived in the mail and I am beyond excited to start turning it into something, though it's already pretty darn gorgeous on its own. I'm excited, but also kind of nervous, because the critical voice in my head is telling me I'm just going to wreck it, but it's never been right before, so...
