On Saturday we went to my mom's for some more Easter shenanigans, and the kids finally got to have a proper Easter egg hunt. Theodore had never done one before, and couldn't quite get the hang of it. Immediately after he found his first egg, he opened it and devoured the contents. He collected maybe one or two more, but couldn't be dissuaded from immediately enjoying the spoils. He had his candy, what's the point in the rest?

Oliver, of course, had an amazing time. I'm so happy the weather was nice enough for an outdoor hunt this year - in t-shirts! My soul dances at the thought, Spring is here and it is going to stay! No more snow! Only blue skies and sunshine and warm days ahead, in all aspects I think. It was an awesome day, and I ate a tremendous amount of mini eggs. But someone had to, surely.

We spent most of the day Sunday recovering from some ailments (mini egg related?) and working on the yard and basement. It was a busy and somewhat stressful day, but once we're finished the mudding/sanding portion of the basement renos, the fun and fast parts begin. The ones that I can actually assist with, and then we won't have to spend so much time on different floors of the house. I can't wait.

This morning a mom friend came down for a playdate. She has three boys of her own, who are also interested in trains and robots and anything with wheels. There was screaming and fighting, and turn-taking issues, so considering they were all little boys, I'd say the morning was a success! I do love her company so much, too. She is so easy to talk to. It's so wonderful to find like-minded people who are kind and generous with their time, and lately I feel like they are accumulating around me. But maybe there aren't more good people in the world, perhaps the truth behind it is that I'm allowing them in to my life for the first time. I have to say, it's growing on me.
