Maternity Photo Shoot

As you all already know, I am a professional family and event photographer. This means that the photos of everyone around me always look fantastic and professional in quality. The photos of myself, however, not so much. Since a professional camera can be tricky to use, the people manning my piece of equipment for me usually don't get it quite right. So most of the photos of myself end up looking blurry, or over/under exposed. And, sadly, this also means that when I want to do a quick little photo shoot with my husband and son, what should take us about half an hour ends up taking us three hours.

Let me say that again. Three hours.

Let's just say it was an adventure. An ordeal. A massive stressful ball of ridiculousness that made me just want to cry my eyes out most of the time. What I needed was another me to man the camera, and know exactly what I meant when I said "Increase the shutter speed." or "Am I centred with the window?" But, since I had to keep going back and forth to the camera, and then posing, and then checking out the camera, and then controlling my almost-two-year-old, and being a bit too bossy with my poor husband who was really only doing his best, the shoot took us three hours. Un. Real.

But it's finished now! One more thing to cross off the list of to-do's before baby arrives! And I'm actually quite pleased with the finished result. I wouldn't have minded a few more, and there were some shots that sadly we just couldn't have due to Oliver not cooperating, the location not working, or I just wasn't in the mood anymore. But I think what we ended up with isn't too bad.

So here's me in all of my round glory at 37 Weeks! Enjoy!
