Today marks day #1 on the baby calendar, and that means I've got t-7 days before I've got to start making sure my eggs are ready for fertilizin'. So I have got to get my act in gear, and start knocking off some of the things I won't be able to do once baby's on board.
I wish I would have made a bucket list before baby #1, because I had no idea how much I'd miss some of these things. Sure, some of them are silly (jump on a trampoline) but others are things that I currently do on a daily basis! (drink Coke, take a scalding hot shower, eat cookie dough - don't judge!) So I'm really going to miss them once my Eggo is preggo.
I've already drank a nice cold can of Coke today, so that one can come off the list. Does that mean I won't drink any more within the next 7 days? It doesn't have to...
I've also taken a scalding hot shower today, too. Which was incredible. And when I say scalding hot, I mean I took this thing an hour ago, and my skin is still red. A-mazing, just burnin' those germs away, I tell ya.
But the rest of these items I'm going to try and achieve as soon as possible, because baby-makin'-time is coming up fast! Not that I'm not looking forward to it, but I am going to miss these simple pleasures in life.
But since today marks day #1, it's time to start introducing some of those healthy habits I've spoken about before. Little bit of meditation here and there, but especially exercise. Even though baby hasn't set up camp yet, I can still get a jump start on my pregnancy fitness. They say it takes three weeks to develop a habit, so really I should have started a week ago, but I'm sure two weeks will be more than enough. And the health benefits for a fetus are endless when it comes to a mama getting at least 30 minutes of basic exercise every day. Plus I can help ensure that my body will bounce back once baby's in my arms, and not my uterus.
So this evening the hubby and I are going to go for a walk, maybe listen to a little music, and have some pre-baby-makin' bonding time, while getting some super healthy cardio too. I think I'm really going to enjoy this. One more new thing I've got to start introducing as well is prenatal vitamins. Yes, taking them even now can benefit any future offspring of ours, and even if I don't get pregnant right away, the folic acid is still super healthy to so many other areas in my life, too.
Anybody out there getting ready to make a baby? What ways are you using to prep yourself for fertilization madness? Anybody else have a little bit of cookie dough every day? No? Just me? I'm not ashamed.
