They are apparently finally starting construction on the public walking path behind our home, though my boys couldn't care less what the final product is going to be, and are beside themselves with joy over the machinery whizzing past our house all day every day. The higher they raise the land, the closer the tractors seem to get to our house and the other morning my boys were just shaking in their seats as they rolled past. I could see they were anxious to get a better look so I threw some nearby hoodies and shoes on them and sent them outside in their jammies to check out the action. Are they stylish? Not particularly. Are they adorable? Ooohh yeah.

A neighbour even took them on their own little quad rides while he was inspecting the damage himself, and basically put the cherry on top of their mornings. I can't wait to have a nice space back there that isn't a water filled ditch! We won't have to worry about babies tumbling down into the ditch, or cars running us over on the street for our bike rides. It might affect the view a bit, but I'll gladly take the trade-off. I hope they make quick work of it, though, since I can definitely see the day-in and day-out construction getting to be a bit annoying over time.

My mind is on Hallowe'en costumes as well, and I can't seem to make up my mind. I keep thinking I've got the perfect idea, and then I think of an even better one again and have to figure out what to do with what I've already bought. I'm sure what'll happen is that I won't think of anything witty or clever and they'll end up wearing those ugly puffy costumes from Walmart, dressed as lions or cows or something completely unclever. We'll see if I can get it together in time this year. I hope so!
