Well, now that fall is here (though not really, since it's been a pretty warm couple of days here and we actually had to turn on the air conditioning yesterday ahem) we've switched gears from outside work to inside work and I'm so excited about it. There are definitely a few things left to do outside (like mow the grass which has been impossible since our lawn mower died on us.) We also need to put some doors on our shed so our outside things can stay safe through what is sure to be a long winter again. But my garden is almost completely dismantled - everything but the carrots that we're waiting on to get really nice and sweet - and the general yard grooming is all completely finished for the year. Renovations time!

Matt finally finished the taping/mudding/sanding in the rec room and priming time has finally arrived. Oliver is beside himself with excitement about it, and has been helping Daddy paint with his own tiny roller. He's beaming on the ladder because he's next to his "new bed" which is actually a built-in bunk bed we put in for guests (and slumber parties) but he's got his heart set on spending at least a few naps or nights there and is anxiously waiting for the day that he can. Theodore is essentially not allowed in the space at all anymore because wet paint + Goldenboy = the worst idea ever. With excellent not-listening skills and the need to touch anything interesting or new we've just quarantined him from the room entirely. (Funny story, when he was only one he actually ate some latex paint and had us dialling poison control for the first time ever. Opposite of funny actually...)

If you're interested in giving us a hand with painting, I'm sure we'd be happy to pay you in pizza or brownies or live show tunes! It's going to be a really big job with lots of nooks and crannies to be conquered so come on down!
