09.08.15 // Labour Day Photos

Every year on Labour Day I take photos of my boys next to the same chalk board. I started before Oliver was even one-year-old, because I knew one day I wanted to take back-to-school photos of him, and I knew it would be extra cool to have photos from infancy too (not just starting in Kindergarten.) The original two are taken around my mother-in-law's home, since that's where we were living those years, but once we moved to our beautiful new dream house, I could start taking the photos on our front porch that way I'd always imagined I would. I can not believe how much my boys have grown and continue to grow. I can not believe I have already taken FIVE Labour Day photos of Oliver (what??) and it's exciting to think that next year I'll be taking a photo of a totally new little human.

For comparison's take, I'll post all of the photos from previous years so you can scroll through them and see how much my babe's have changed. That's quite enough now, Time. Slow it on down.

Here's Oliver, all the way from tiny little fudge-ball to strapping young man. I can't even stand it.

It's definitely a struggle to sum up their top interests into four little things. When I write learning for Oliver, it means that his number one interest is learning everything he can about new things, especially things in nature like bugs and plants and birds.

And here's Theodore, whose photos have only ever been taken at the new house. I think the most notable thing about his photos is the changing length of his hair. And that face that allows him to get away with pretty much anything he wants (can ya blame me?)

I know what you're thinking, and we wrote trains on there twice on purpose. I had to resist the urge to make all five of his little words "trains" because this kid has a very real obsession and it would probably be a more accurate depiction of who he is right now. Though if I had to pick anything else that he's interested in, those other things are a close second.

That about wraps up this year's Labour Day photos! They look like they were easy to take but I assure you they were not. At least we don't have to worry about them for another year!
