Today is a rainy day for the outside world, but not for my disposition. Perhaps someone else out there controls the weather with their moods as well, as today it does not reflect mine. I'm feeling quite chipper, considering how excruciating my abdominal pain has been the last couple of days, and excited about the days ahead. We're thinking of picking up a play structure for the boys this week for the backyard, so we'll be able to start actually getting some work done out there while they play (not in the streets.) I'm pretty excited about it. I feel like I'll suddenly have a real back yard.

My dad dropped his corn snake off at our place on Saturday for a little visit. Oliver is really into snakes right now, so we're keeping Jack around at our place for a bit so they can get to know each other. He even watched him hunt and eat a live mouse. I felt a little weird about it at first, but Oliver seemed okay with the process. I can't decide if it's a great lesson or not, or if he's too young or not. Presently he seems okay, though, so we'll see about that one. Theodore was initially very excited about the snake as well, though he's lost all interest now. I don't think it moves quite fast enough or frequently enough to hold his interests. Oliver still checks on him daily, though, and is awaiting the glorious moment when he finally gets to hold him. We've been waiting for the digestive process to finish before making that attempt, and it's been a tough wait for one surprisingly patient little four-year-old. We'll have to make sure daddy's home for that one, to capture the magic with the camera. It's going to be brilliant, I think.
