On Saturday my firstborn turned four, and I'm still frozen in disbelief. How could that tiny little loaf of bread they lay against my chest that fateful day be a four-year-old? How can he name over 20 species of dinosaur, and be perfectly in tune with my every emotion? He has become such an incredible little boy, and amazes me more and more every day. We had a huge party on Saturday that I'm still physically and emotionally recuperating from, but for now I'm just trying to enjoy this beautiful boy at this beautiful age. Still young enough to be snuggled in my arms, old enough to get himself a glass of water. Young enough to eagerly want to help me sweep the floors, old enough to understand when mommy's feeling a little tired. My sweet beautiful boy, so hungry for knowledge and so in love with nature and animals and anything messy or outdoors. Or mechanical. Or scientific. He's my sweet little nerd and I just adore the ground he walks on, always will.
