I've always wished there was more evidence of the places I lived as a baby, either in photos or video, and it makes me a little sad that my kiddos won't really remember this place, so in order to preserve the memories forever we did a live unedited uncut continuous walking tour of our apartment for your enjoyment, and for our own future treasuring.
A couple of notes:
- I am completely sans makeup, and just finished doing an engagement photo shoot.
- All the lights are on in the apartment because there is next to no natural light.
- We did clean the entire apartment before this video except for the bathroom. I'm sorry. You just can't make me clean that place.
- When I talk about our family "growing and changing" it makes me think of Bridesmaids.
- Why is the toilet open for the tour? I have no idea. We always have it closed. Because it is dirty.
- Yes, I do forget the word "phases" for a moment when talking about the moon, but I land it just in time.
- My hubby is the camera man, but let's just say he shouldn't quit his day job (sorry sweetie, but you suck.)
I'm totally weirded out by myself in this video, by the way. I have a totally different idea of who I am in my head, and every time I see myself on camera it makes me feel all weird and floopy. This video also reminds me that I should probably get my lazy cookie-dough-eating keister off the couch once in a while and burn a calorie or two thousand. Moving on...
The apartment is at its very cleanest in this video, and thus not exactly accurate to how it usually looked to us while living here, so for posterity, I've included some lovely photos of our apartment in its natural state. A little like my face and hair for the entire video.
When I took these my brother Ben was staying over for the week, which he frequently did, so the day bed is actually in bed mode, for extra messy enjoyment. Additionally, I didn't turn on the lights in the main space, just to help communicate the actual darkness (in the middle of the sunny day!) in our apartment.
Also that blue thing hanging from the ceiling is the jolly jumper. It's all bunched up so we don't trip over it while we're walking by. It hangs from the hooks I mentioned in the last post.
So now you've got a much better idea of the place we've been living for the past three years! Hope you enjoyed it, and my camera weirdness didn't totally ruin your day! (I can't even work up the nerve to watch the video a second time, that's how weirded out it makes me.)
Anyone else film themselves lately, and then watch it only to realize you are a totally different person than you thought you were? Anyone else think they probably wouldn't be friends with themselves in real life? No? Just me again?
Very cool Holly and Matt! It sure will be nice to move into your new house! All the best as you move!
