Jump and Jive

A little more proof that there is in fact an organism thriving in my abdomen.

I thought I'd felt something a few days earlier, but I wasn't sure. And then sure enough, lying there in bed next to my husband last night, watching a TV show (Mad Men - which we love) and next thing I know, that familiar rhythmic thumping. A little different than with Oliver - this was so early, and so very strong. I thought for sure Matt would be able to feel it from the outside! We tried, of course, and he couldn't but it was truly amazing. And continued on through the episode, and on after that as I tried to sleep.

Which hasn't been an easy feat.

I still can't keep anything down, and am feeling unbelievably exhausted and sluggish. Nausea still plagues me, but I've got our big Getaway Weekend Extravaganza! to look forward to this upcoming weekend. We're sending our big squirt off to his Grandma's for the ENTIRE weekend while we have a nice stay in a hotel, and do all of the things we can't do when he's around. Like eat in restaurants. And see movies in the theatre. And sleep in. These may sound like a lame use of time to some of you non-parents, but I assure you - they are definitely something to look forward to once kiddos arrive.

So wish us luck! I'm sure we'll miss him terribly, and probably ask for him to be brought back to us first thing Saturday morning, but here's hopin'!
